Philip Gillard, RIBA, is an award-winning architect with over 25 years of international design experience. Originally from the UK, he first came to Dubai in 2001 to contribute to the DIFC Masterplan and has since led numerous high-profile projects across the globe.

His work is driven by a design philosophy rooted in sustainability, innovation, and a strong sense of context—always informed by how people experience and engage with spaces in their everyday lives.

Following two decades in senior leadership at Gensler, Philip established GILLARD Atelier in 2026, founding the studio in the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) and Dubai Design District (D3). His portfolio includes landmark projects for a diverse range of clients, including ADEO, DIFC, Deutsche Bank, TAG, Aston Martin, McLaren Formula One, Apple, Siemens, PIF, and Dubai Holding.

At its core, the studio brings together a dynamic mix of emerging designers and seasoned international consultants, united by a shared commitment to thoughtful and impactful design.

Philip is known for his collaborative approach, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver design excellence. He is equally committed to mentorship and creative exchange, fostering emerging talent while cultivating a studio culture that places people at the centre of the design process.
